well that was fast.

Last time looking at it with stock wheels.

Overnight parts from the mainland? Seemed like it as the wheels and tires showed up in under a week. Living in Hawaii, I always expect parts to show up way later than anticipated. But this time it was at my door step faster than I expected.

I threw the wheels and tires in the truck and drove it down to Car Shop Refresh to get the tires mounted and wheels balanced. The Falken RT660 (255/35R18) put up a good fight being mounted on the 18×9.5+41 CE28’s. But Chris and Mike managed to get them all on with no issues other than the tire machine acting up on the first mount. Thanks again guys!

The next morning I woke up early to mount them on the car. I knew it was potentially going to be a long day as I suspected that I would have to roll the fenders for clearance.

First mock up of the rear wheels and the fitment was looking good but there were issues with the tire rubbing on the rear fender lip and fender garnish piece.

I debated on trimming the metal and rolling the fenders but after some research it looked like people were getting away with adding more camber and correcting the caster to keep the wheel from touching the fender. So I decided to leave it alone and raise the rear a smidge to keep the tire from completely destroying the fender lip for now.

The fronts were quite easy and had no issues with clearance other than rubbing at full lock. I’ll probably end up running a 3mm spacer for the clearance.

First time on the ground with all four wheels on and it looks so good!

It is a decent height for now until I can get the rears sorted out and lower the car maybe another inch or so to get rid of the gap completely.

Black is such a difficult color to maintain but also the most rewarding when its clean.

Until next time.
