2017 was a wild year. For me personally I achieved lots of goals and also hit the lowest points of my life relationship wise. It was a year of growth and experience. For my car I achieved that 2002 180sx kawabata/fukuda fluke look. Started off the year with pretty much nothing on the front end of the car. Luckly I was able to source some dmax fenders locally after spending about a couple months trying to get a vendor that would be able to ship fenders to me without ripping me a new one. Also at the time I was talking with Lennon from DorkiDori for quite sometime trying to find away to bring down the type RH kit to Hawaii. I was on the fence about it but after settling down on a good price and some discount I pulled the trigger. Great guy to work with and shout out to him being a sole person that runs dorkidori I give him a lot of props. The kit in itself is something you don’t see too often on because it is discontinued and is only reproduced by dorkidori. I love the look and it emulates that style I wanted and something you dont see too often. Spent the rest of the year unpainted until about the end of summer where I decided I was tired of seeing it multicolored and decided to throw some paint on it. Glad I did. It makes it look 10 times better. But I couldn’t finish it because I ran out of paint before I got to the type x wing. Oh well gives me something to do in the future.
The kit wasn’t the only thing that was done last year. I decided that I wanted to change up the front steering setup. I wasn’t quite satisfied with how the front end felt. It felt slow and very unresponsive. So I went with villain knuckles kit up front with the 40mm extended LCA, sikky sway bar and voodoo13 tension rods. Driving on this setup changed the car a bunch. I had to change the way I drive to accommodate the twitchiness of the steering. Once I got used to that it made it way more enjoyable to drive and the added steering angle gives you a bit more confidence to layup on the gas when you feel you’re about to over rotate and give that nice angle. Also front camber gives the car that aggressive stance and makes the car look much more menacing. I love it. I may change up the alignment this year maybe for less caster up front and as usual the hunt for 17″ te37sl’s so I won’t destroy my front fenders. But other then that I think I’ll just enjoy the car for once and keep on driving it.
Here’s to 2018 and continual improvement.
