Old school vibes.

Just read through Joey’s article from stickydiljoe on Augustcascade. Brings me back to those high school days when all we would do in computer class was watch old teamrice and drift session videos. I think it was freshman year for me 2004. It was always so awesome seeing them take vids of the cars just rolling on the freeways or doing pulls in the industrial areas. I never did really get into that whole car cruise scene here but I’ve been to a few and it’s a pretty tight bit group. That era for Hawaii was so great. The drifting scene was huge when we had a track. Sadly I never got to partake in the drift sessions they had back in the day. 2006 was when the track closed and was the same year I got my license and rx7 working.

I guess it was a lot of inspiration for me to build something to that level. Full build top to bottom. But not having a track really makes having a car build like that hard to keep because there is literally no use for it and cops are always hassling modified cars here so it’s something you can’t just take out and enjoy without worrying. But people still build regardless and they show up every once in awhile.

It was kind of refreshing to read that article and see that people that were once in it back in those days are still in it. I just want to one day make it to that level and build something truly special.
