In the back alleys and roads of Harajuku I sensed a lot of style. Off the main strip, where many of the locals and tourist were browsing the main shops, I decided to venture off and get away from the crowds and explore a bit. It was the 31st of December I believe and not too many of the shops were open which was a bummer but it was cool to walk around and take in more of Japan’s urban street style.
Bathing Ape store was quite massive. Too bad I didn’t go in but I really didn’t want to spend any money because I was saving up for car parts haha. But really one of the bigger shops tucked away from the main strip.

Nice little barber shop with some blanks and supreme seats with a fixed gear sitting outside. Japan does really well on clean aesthetics and really capture that essence of street style we have here in the US.

On the side of that same shop sat this porsche with a tow ring. Maybe it does see some track side action?

Too bad ALIFE was closed on this day. Love the slogan on the side.

“Plate lunch” many of you locals from Hawaii will get this one.
An abandoned building in Japan?! I thought space was scarce. This one looked liked any abandoned building state side. It wasn’t completely covered in pieces and was maybe just recently abandoned? Outside on the walls and fences it was covered though so I guess no one has been looking over it. Surprisingly I saw a lot of graffiti all over Tokyo. Wish I brought some slaps or a paint pen *heh*

Deus shop was closed as well couldn’t get a nice cup of cappuccino. I really need to come back and explore these places some more. Interesting building design. Always really wanted to do a matte finish on my car with chrome decals. I think it would look nice.

Mishka was also closed what bad timing to come..

Hello Gritty? LOL damn rough.

Harajuku less populated street.

Altezza. I seen a lot of Lexus around Harajuku and some higher end cars.

Like this corvette sitting on the side of the main strip. Looked like the owner was waiting for his lady to buy some street snacks. This thing was pretty nice.

Could you imagine this getting down with some skylines on the wangan?? Would be fun to see and will definitely have to hook up with some car guys next time I go to Tokyo to see some action!

Lots of interesting cars you wouldn’t expect to see here. Much less driving when its so damn cold outside. I’d be a solid block of ice. Living in Hawaii makes your skin thinner so you can’t really handle the cold. I layered up every time I went out.

Another American car. You could hear the V8 rumbling from a mile away. Anyway very cool Pantera. Japanese really do love American culture.
And ending this back on the main strip. Look at those crowds. There were people everywhere. It was a holiday for most of the Japanese people and it seemed like the whole city was out and about. Hope this briefly gave you an insight on some things you might see if you venture off the main roads. I’ll try to be more active and post more but with my time being limited with other demands it might be awhile til I blog again.
